EQUITY LAND TITLE CO-FOUNDER RECEIVES APPOINTMENT BY GOVERNOR
Orlando, FL – October 4, 2010 – Michael E. Marder, Esq. , co-founder of Greenspoon Marder and Equity Land Title, has been appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 9th Judicial Circuit, 5th District Court of Appeals, for a four-year term beginning Sept. 29, 2010.
As part of the commission, Marder is responsible for providing the Governor with a list of possible appointments to various state courts , including the Florida Supreme Court , the five Florida District Courts of Appeal and the 20 Florida Circuit Courts . The nominating commission is integral to the appointment of district judges and Florida Supreme Court justices.
“I look forward to my role on the commission,” Marder said. “The JNC’s responsibility is to recommend candidates who have the highest character, intellect, integrity and fair-mindedness to fill judicial vacancies. It is vital to the law that we seek out applicants who understand the importance of an independent judiciary and who respect the role of courts to interpret and apply the law in a fair and impartial way.”
Marder co-founded the business law firm Greenspoon Marder, P.A. in 1981 and Equity Land Title in 1989. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate, administration law, condominium and timeshare and business and corporate law. He is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Middle and Southern Districts; U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit; and Arbitrator, U.S. District Court, Middle District. He is a member of the Florida Bar in the Sections of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, as well as in Corporate, Business and Banking Law.
